- Does the process hurt?
The process of extensions will take up to two hours. This includes your before and after consultation. Once your eyepads are applied, we will get you comfy and begin the application. You’ll hardly feel a thing! Most clients schedule their nap time around these painless appointments! - Are you applying lashes to my skin?
No. Eyelash extensions are never applied to the skin. The eyelash extensions are placed 1-2 milimeters away from your eyelid. This helps with the natural shedding process of your own lashes so the extensions can shed flawlessly along with them. Please avoid coffee and excessive talking. The movement and fluttering of your lashes can effect proper placement of the extensions. - Will I be able to feel them?
The adhesive used is a medical grade that is thin, flexible and practically weightless. Clients often forget they have them on! - How often will I need a fill?
Fills are touchup appointments booked every 2-3 weeks. It’s critical to come to your appointment with squeaky clean lashes! The less time spent cleaning, the more extensions we can apply! During this process we will remove any extensions that have grown out, as well as add extensions to lashes that have shed and new lashes that have grown in. - What about sleeping?
As a side sleeper, I know adjusting this is hard! We like to sleep how we are comfortable. It’s not ideal to sleep on your face or have your lashes smushed into your pillow. If you’re a side sleeper, fluff your pillow where you can comfortable lay on your side so your cheek sits on your pillow, keeping your lashes exposed. - When Can I get them wet?
Your natural eyelashes should not get wet for a conservative amount of two hours. However, I recommend 24- 48 hours at most to allow the adhesive to properly bond. You can swim, shower and participate in regular activities that involve getting them wet. - How do I cleanse my lashes?
Any product left on your lashes will compromise the bond of the extensions. Gently cleanse in circles around the eye area. You don’t want to scrub or rub your lashes. Never use use cotton swabs to remove your makeup. The fibers in these products can get caught in your lashes or pull on the extensions. - I’ve heard other people talk about no oil?
YES! Avoid ANYTHING with oils. Oil will break down the bond and cause the extensions to fall off. This includes cleansers, sunscreens, bath bombs and sweat from your own body. If you’re an active person, please remember to do a quick cleanse to rid any sweat that may have found its way onto your lashes. - Am I losing too many lashes?
Eyelash cycles range between four to twelve weeks. It’s possible to have more adult lashes at one time that are at the end of their cycle. Remember, home care is HUGE! The better you care for your lashes, the longer they will last. Due to the natural shedding process of the lashes, you can lose 1-3 lashes a day. - I’m a makeup junkie. Can I still wear mascara?
Most brands of mascara and liners will still contain products and oils that will break down the adhesive. Do NOT use waterproof mascara on your eyelashes. A water soluble mascara is best. There is no need to coat the whole lash. When removing mascara from your lashes can cause the extensions to fall off prematurely as well. Wearing mascara repeatedly will weaken the bond between the lashes. - Will I still need my eyelash curler?
No, the lashes already have a permanent curl to them. There is no need to use an eyelash curler with them as it will weaken the lashes and break them. - How do I comb and groom my lashes?
You want to groom your lashes daily. With the eye closed, brush from the base up to the tips. Open your eyes and fluff up the tips! - Am I a candidate for volume lashes:
Results may vary depending on how many natural lashes the client has as well as their own lash health. - Can I still get facials?
Of course! Always be sure to let your esthetician know about your Eyelash Extensions and use caution when using steam. We recommend to always get facials before your lash fills. - I have an appointment to get spray tanned.
Airbrush tanning should be done 24-hours prior to your eyelash appointment. - I have seasonal allergies, is this a problem?
Do not rub your eyes, instead you should get used to patting your eyes gently which is in fact much better for the eyelashes and the sensitive skin around the eyes. We recommend Zaditor or your own allergy medication to be used before ad after your appointments to avoid any issues. - I don’t want my extensions anymore, how do I take them off?
Never pull your eyelash extension off as it will pull out your natural eyelash. If you want them removed contact Glam for our professional eyelash removal service
